Hello all! I'm working on a new Highlander time-travel romance novel--in the plotting stages. But before I could continue, I wanted to know what readers want as far as the time-traveling element, in a story. My hero is a hot Highland warrior from the past, and the heroine is from present day.
When you're reading time-travel, do you prefer the hero to travel from the past to the future, the heroine to travel to the past, or a mix of both?
If you'd be so kind as to fill out the poll on the right side of this blog, I would be grateful!
Cheers,
Eliza

I voted for the hero/future only because it feels like most time travels usually go to the past. I like the idea of the confused alpha male dealing with flush toilets and lingerie.
I like when they go back and forth, I like seeing the past thru contemporary eyes and the present thru ancient eyes.
I do love putting myself in the place of a heroine who gets to experience history in the making, but it might also be interesting to see what a historic hero would think of modern men--whether they ignore the old traditions of chivalry in mistreating their women or whether they are the type who's "in touch with his feminine side."
I definitely prefer going from the present to the past.
I like both but I voted going from the past to the future because I'm curious to know how such a historical hero would fare in our modern world.
Thanks so much for weighing in :) I'm leaning towards both... I think she will go to the past and then they will both come to the future. I love seeing both sides of the story too.
