If TEOTWAWKI ever comes, it is people like us that have the best chance of survival. Nothing better to teach survival & have fun at the same time.<br />http://woodsrunnersdiary.blogspot.com/Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12562001301604097606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861175623849452396.post-38205051506870439082011-05-11T17:24:08.592-04:002011-05-11T17:24:08.592-04:00Great post, Kate! It was a lot of fun, although I couldn't wait to get home and jump in the shower, especially on those hot summer weekends. Our youngest son was seven or eight when we started and he was good for fetching water for camp and later on, learned how to chop wood for the cooking fire. LOL. By the time we stopped reenacting, he'd become a member of the infantry.Susan Macateehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07476340887041053638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861175623849452396.post-6108734184207919902011-05-11T16:22:46.901-04:002011-05-11T16:22:46.901-04:00What fascinating insight into reenactments!! When I was growing up my grandparents lived in the Ozarks and still lived pretty primitively compared to the rest of us (no indoor plumbing, outhouse, my Grandpa used a mule to plow, etc.) It was fun as a kid to spend summers there, but I quickly learned to appreciate modern conveniences!
